I’m currently on a salary based on 45hrs a week for an office job. I “have” to take an hour lunch at an exact time every day as well as the office manager. My schedule looks like M-F 7am-5pm, with lunch from 12-1.
My boss has changed my salary probably 5 times so far this year. I’ll be given a “raise” ($1.50/hr based on 45hrs), then a week or so later my “hours” would be cut (again) so I’d make less than I was anyways then told I needed to do more than I already do.
When I got woken up on a Saturday by boss because somebody’s direct deposit didn’t come through (I don’t handle payroll, office manager and book keeper do), I made the calls I needed to make. I let boss he wrote his account number wrong, his bank wont speak with us so he has to call to correct it. I also told boss I don’t appreciate being woken up on my day off for something that someone can take care of on their own or that can wait until office hours.
Boss told my office manager I pissed in her cheerios and I’m no longer on salary. I got another job for the weekends. Boss found out about a week later, she got all stirred up and gave me back what I was supposed to make with the raise in the first place.
Do I really need to be here working OT every single week? I’m ready to leave this place, I’m just stacking savings here until I’m trained up and ready to leave for the next job.
