First time making a post on this sub.
Back in May I finally got an office job where feel happy in. I feel like my boss supports and listens to me, I have coworkers who are nice and professional. And have been getting a lot of praise. I work for a psychiatric medical group in the corporate office.
Of course the job isn’t perfect but I feel like my main reasons for hating jobs in the past are perfect here. Like I mentioned before. The pay is small, 18/hr starting. (For Bay Area, CA) as it is wildly expensive here still and only gets more expensive. I cannot afford rent, and am still paying off out of pocket medical bills.
I do get decent benefits, the health insurance is fantastic with tons of options and perfect for me and 80% by work. But the pay is the smallest I’ve had in 4 years. Mostly cause I’ve worked in retail then as a movie theater assistant manager. Benefits were trash but pay was 22/hr though not worth it for what your responsibilities are.
I have salary negations coming up in November 1st and I never had a negotiation before for salary.
Any tips or warning signs I should look out for?
