A coworker finally reported one of the assistant managers for rampant sexual harassment. By finally, I mean the behavior was daily and blatant, and visible to everyone including other managers.
The reporting party and their friend were put on leave, while management looked through THEIR private texts, hoping to discredit the report. Upon finding only confirmation that there WAS harassment, managers instead wrote the reporting party (and her friend who's only involvement was standing by her friend) up for saying negative things about coworkers in their private texts, saying this Final Written Report (even though this is the first write up for either person) is unrelated to the sexual harassment report. For instance, in the private texts, both friends (who were angry about the harassment) called them a name (di**heads).
They know they're not allowed to fire them, but writing them up for the content of their private messages seems like retaliation to me? And skipping to the “final” written warning when neither has received a write up in the past?
