so when i was hired into my job in april, they started me off at $17 an hour. on the day they interviewed me they told me that if i could “prove myself” they would give me $19 an hour.
in june i had a conversation with my manager about wanting more responsibilities because i wanted to begin learning management tasks so i could move in that direction within the company. he told me that he would give me more and when i get my evaluation in july, i would also receive the $19 because of the added responsibilities.
i still have not received the evaluation or the $19 but i have gotten more responsibilities. now they have offered me even more responsibilities that are more management based and i accepted under the condition i would be getting paid for it, starting at the $19 and then getting more once i was trained on the new tasks.
since then, about a week and a half ago, the only time someone has said something to me about this is when i asked and was told “we dont want to give you these responsibilities yet because you havent gotten your $19 yet and we dont want you to ask for more when you get that because you have already been doing more”
what should i do about this? im thinking of declining any further additional work but i still want to move up in the company.
