I work at Leslies Pool Supply in the US. They really suck. Long 10-11 hr shifts, one 30 min lunch with no breaks between. My schedule is constantly being changed, my time is not respected. My manager never gives me good feedback. I am exhausted and I'm making minimum wage, but my job is more complex and difficult than normal retail because I have to do chemistry and machine repairs too, which I didnt even know was part of the job until I got into training. The comoany is also trying to transfer me to another store which I really dont wanna do because the commute is expensive and I hate the manager there, but it seems I will not be able to keep my job unless I comply.
I applied to Trader Joes because I heard theyre a lot nicer to their staff and have good benefits and pay. Got through interview 1, and Im going in for the second one in two days. I'm fairly confident I will get the job, but you never know for certain.
I am honestly so exhausted and fed up with Leslies and their crusty customers and management. I am really considering just walking out, like, TODAY. Text my manager and email the district manager, lock up the shop, and leave.
Trouble is, I dont wanna be without income if Trader Joes doesn't accept me. Logic says I should stay until I am hired, and it's only a couple days. But holy crap I'm here for almost 11 hours today and I'm honestly stewing in my anger rn.
