At the beginning of June, I landed an assistant manager role at an Asian mall gift shop (the one who's logo is a red square). I was promised in my offer letter a minimum of 30 hours a week (full-time in thier company for benefits). My first two weeks, I got 30 hours exactly. Every week after has been 15-25 hours. My manager says it's because of the store not meeting sales goals, but I truly don't believe my hours should've ever went below the expected minimum. I would've never accepted the offer if I knew that!
Anyway, as soon as they began to slash my hours, I started looking for another job. I found a position at a grocery store and I start next week, but I haven't told my manager I'm leaving. She sat down with me a few days ago and expressed that she's taking two vacations in the next 2 months, and that if I were to quit, she'd need a month notice so that it doesn't overlap with her vacations (I've only been there for a month lol). When I expressed my worries about the hour cuts, she explained that she always makes sure I have at least 30, which is a big fat lie.
I was going to ghost the place until she mentioned her upcoming vacations. Should I shoot her a text after my last shift to tell her I'm out? Or should I be as petty as she is with my hours and ghost the place?
