Sick of thieves and protocol, now I want to quit and do gig work for now

For context I work at a family owned boot and workwear shop, not a corporation. The shop itself is decent, but it's also falling apart (literally), and on a “bad part of town”. My coworkers are great, store manager is a good guy, but the owner doesn't seem to understand his satellite store is not a dumping ground for fashion boots, and the county this store is in is more blue collar than the “hq”. He constantly sees bad reviews but also tells us to do the exact opposite with watching people. We get hit by thieves nearly monthly, and honestly, I want to beat the living shit out of them when they succeed. But im constantly told I can't. Well, then pay for one of us to get a armed security license/training. I have my legal CCW permit, just let us carry then. “Oh that's dangerous” I don't give…

I'll take the extra training and get a membership to USCCA. I can barely afford a fucking studio in this town, let alone actually live. Fuck it, I'll just do gig work and make money that way. Since my hobby isn't paying for itself anymore.
