I'm a cleaner at work and my rate was something like $17AUD/hr. Spoke to three seperate superiors of mine about how bad my pay is. They agreed it was shit pay. Boss and I went over a contract a few weeks ago, and I checked with him, saying 'hey this says I'm getting a pay rise to $25/AUD/hr, is that correct?'. He said it was.
Signed the contract. Was excited for my hard work to be recognised and for me to get a pay rise for all the work I do. I mean. I clean some of the dirtiest shit at work. Toilets, urinals, rotting milk and yogurt stuck in between grates. All sorts of shit.
Got my payslip for this week. It still said my pay was 17/hr. I checked with the boss why that was. He pulls me into his office and explains that it 'turns out' I'm not entitled to a pay rise like that. 'But hey!' he says 'you'll get a pay rise on your birthday, you'll make an extra $70 a week, so that's pretty good isn't it?'.
Sick of this shit guys. Really sick of this shit.
