I work for a nationwide company, but only part-time. It’s union so pretty good benefits. I recently found out that if I take more than 2 sick days a year, I lose 16 hours of vacation (thanks for bringing this to my attention, Covid). So I decided that from now on, my sick days are my vacation days. I didn’t feel like going in today so I called in sick. First time I’ve “misused” sick pay ever… I feel a little bit bad, but not enough to go into work today. I’m sure it will get easier with time.
