Single father. Took a job at a university so I could further my education for cheap. Everyone on the interview panel failed to tell me that tuition waivers don’t apply to online degrees.

I have my daughter on weekdays, so I can't attend evening classes. I discussed my intention to pursue my MBA online through the university with the interviewers more than once. I even worked with someone in admissions to complete my application, and was accepted before anyone told me, or provided any information that would have lead to that discovery. I left a job that I was comfortable in and paid more. Was it a lie of omission because I was the only good candidate, or is the system this naive about the needs of its workers?
