Just a rant, I’m planning on searching for a new job now that we’ve closed on our house.
I got hired last year April and was informed I get 7 days pto.
I got covid last May so took five days of sick days and was paid.
I took one comp day because I had to work a holiday.
My coworker who was hired one week prior to me went to Disneyland in June and was paid the entire week.
My supervisor who was hired a month before me, went to Hawaii for a week in September was paid her entire pto.
Anyways, I’ve had this entire week planned for MONTHs since June/july. It’s on our calander. Our house was finished being built and closed last week. I needed the week off to move in and help us get settled in. I get a random call from HR today and she calls to let me know they’re not going to pay me for Thursday/friday. I’ve never had a job take back pto before so idk how to approach this.
I told her okay and said how inappropriate it is to call me about this on my time off. She’s taking a week off next week so I’m a bit hurt because it feels personal.
Obviously I’m just going to take my loss of pay do I have any recourse? What can I say to HR, my boss when I return?
Thanks
