So tired of getting gaslit by companies!

So I applied for a job at fed ex and the shift hours they had were 4:30 pm to 2:30 am. Once I got the job however the actual start time was at 4:00 pm and I was written up for being late on my first day of work despite showing them the hours they advertised on the job offer email! When I showed them this discrepancy, they admitted it was their fault but also said that they couldn’t remove the tardiness mark due to a blanket attendance policy, so now I have to accept that mark despite not being at fault. This same thing happened at valeo too where the shift starts 30 minutes earlier than advertised and where I had to go through this same song and dance. Why do companies do this? Are they already at the point of making a reason to fire you before you…

Why do companies do this? Are they already at the point of making a reason to fire you before you even start? No wonder the business world is so dysfunctional.
