Hello everyone. Recently posted since my wife was laid off and how little humanity they had with it.
Got a lot of comments commenting how can't expect companies to treat you like a human or how it's a business after all and cannot expect them to consider just one employee.
Well I wanted to bring some positivity about my own experience , for a long time I have been always applying for small companies or startups. Payment usually it's less than big companies but people are nicer and itsroe flexible to advance within.
I have been working on this startup for almost a year now and last month had the news I have cancer
How did my company react?
Told me to take all the time I needed , they helped me with the insurance , kept my job until I'm done with chemo , not only that the owners of the company passed by my house during the weekend with homemade food asking me how was I , and in no moment they mentioned anything about work or when I'll be back or so.
Humane companies exist , companies with kind and mice owners exist , am I naive to expect all to be like this ? Yeah but those are the companies I always try to get into instead of giant corporations.
Just a little positivity about this to bring to this sub
