Started Game Development Because My Career Was Nonexistent Anyway

So to be completely transparent, I've been on disability for the last 12 years, and having never worked previously I am making the minimum in payments per month. Thankfully this is enough to survive with government assistance currently, but I still feel like trying to increase my station even slightly above where I'm at. A couple years ago I shelled out the money and bought a program to start developing video games. I've always been a fan of gaming and always dreamed of making my own. Programming was the biggest barrier before I discovered the existence of fame engines, specifically coding free ones. I've been developing my first game for the last 2 years and it's almost guaranteed to be released by holidays this year. Honestly I have never felt so accomplished as when I do this kind of thing. I'd love to make this a career. I know that entertainment is a luxury now with everything, but I still believe it's a necessity for healthy life. We need that break in our day between work and sleep to just relax and exist. I seek to provide that. Reading posts here has definitely changed my outlook on the current state of affairs in the world. We are so used to being browbeaten by the corporate entities that shackle us and forget that we're meant to be free. I think that's the most important thing this sub has been able to show me.
