I made some big career moves upwards in past couple years. I am head of department in charge of 4 teams totaling 80 people and boy I never felt so stressed in my life. I earn very nice salary of 500k/year so atleast I am decently compensated for the hard work. But the thing is today I had a meeting with CEO and currently we do not have a COO and CEO presented the idea that maybe I could be the person to become it. In general this is great, but if I accept it I know it will be even more stressful due to increased responsibilities. I don't even know how much salary should I ask for the possition. I am thinking 1m yearly atleast because in other case it not worth to me. But if CEO doesnt want to pay that and I decline lesser offer I am afraid I will be seen as unmotivated. I also feel kind bad knowing that I will be earning 40 times more than average worker in my company. But I just couldn't motivate myself to do the job and not getting shit load of money for it just because how stressfull it is.
