Stay and coast in my comfy job or pursue a job for better career satisfaction?

I just had a verbal offer rescinded and feeling very down on my job search. I started looking for a job because I am not satisfied with the work I'm doing and don't foresee myself working long-term at my current company due to the differing values/philosophies in the leadership team. I have tried to advocate for the values and practices I believe in and it just seems like an impossible challenge. Other mentors in my space admit that it would also be impossible for me as an IC to transform the company. So I'm honestly done and burnt out trying to change the company/job to how I want it to be and would rather spend my energy/stress/frustration on job searching.

On the flip side, this job is very cushy and the most amazing WLB I've ever had. I only work 20 hours a week as a salaried employee doing what I need to do.

I've gotten burnt out before at a startup working long hours but it was the most fulfilling work I've ever done in my career. Although, I'd never go through that experience ever again and honestly made me adopt a more r/antiwork philosophy.

The problem if I stay at my current company is that I'm not growing in the skills I want to for my career, so I might be setting myself up for failure in the future.

I'm also scared that my manager would leave someday and I'd basically have to start working the full 40 hours or even more to take up some of his responsibilities. He was about to quit the company but then decided to stay, so I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually leaves.

So TL;DR, the two options are:

  1. Stay in my cushy, relaxing job of 20 hours of work a week with the risk that my career stagnates and my manager might leave someday, requiring to work the normal 40 hours or more.
  2. Keep trucking on with my job search to find a company that shares the same values as me and will help me grow in my career.

Any advice or feedback?
