I’m tempted to out my company. There have been a good handful of employees who work the floor have reported having their tips stolen by hospitality managers. When reported to the GM, we were all ignored and nothing was resolved. Later on they sent out a mass internal email saying we are no longer allowed to talk about tipping, it’s now off limits.
Needless to say everyone was royally pissed that office workers who make more anyway are taking tips from those paid less who actually work events and are customer facing, doing the brunt of the work and taking the brunt of the crap.
I don’t know how to proceed. I can’t prove that they’re pocketing several hundred dollar tips (meant to be divided out to a large group) and instead taking it. I can’t track cash tips like that, but we see then do it, and the GM doesn’t care.
