Worked for this company for YEARS. Started in another city, moved and started working for the same store in another city. Hours had been getting cut so i was already pissed and looking for other jobs. worst part is they hire these new people and give them my hours but they’re so unreliable they end up calling me in because they called out. The day i was scheduled to go into work i had a sinus flare up that blocked my airways and had to be taken to the ER as i was pretty much suffocating. Wake up the next day, still in the hospital, with a text from my manager. he asks where i was yesterday and i told him and all he could say was “you didn’t think to let us know before hand? now it’s a no call no show” i just didn’t respond to this message and stopped showing up as i had landed another, better job. Am i just being over sensitive or does this show that the manager clearly only cares about himself? i literally could have died and your response is you didn’t think to let us know as if i was supposed to plan the sinus flare up. wicked.
