Place I work had a minor tropical storm last week. Everybody was told to stay home except for essential personnel (maintenence, security, nursing). Then an email went out saying people would get paid for that day. So I asked if we got paid double for that day, or get 8 hrs PTO for that day. No, because you actually worked. So I asked how it was fair that 90 percent of the folks got extra pto/day off. Was told it was my job. “But we can ask about it for next time.” Told HR there wouldn't be a next time.
