Struggling with trying to define my position within company.

As the title says, I’m trying to find the best way on how to fully articulate my role here, as it is rather unique to what I’ve encountered in my field. Trying to communicate with management about wages, but this being a hodgepodge-esque position, nobody quite knows the proper answer and I ultimately lose. I manage a fleet for a transportation company, we run roughly 70 units on average. I am also the mechanic and only person that works in the shop. I am in charge of: •Tracking and logging fuel slips and mileage daily. •Ordering Inventory and all other parts and equipment. •Managing routine maintenance schedules •Keeping up to date with current rules/regulations/technical information pertaining to said units • Fixing any and all issues whether it be a simple oil change to engine/transmission overhaul to wiring and programming issues due to these being newer vehicles. • Using nothing but…

I manage a fleet for a transportation company, we run roughly 70 units on average. I am also the mechanic and only person that works in the shop. I am in charge of:

•Tracking and logging fuel slips and mileage daily.
•Ordering Inventory and all other parts and equipment.
•Managing routine maintenance schedules
•Keeping up to date with current rules/regulations/technical information pertaining to said units
• Fixing any and all issues whether it be a simple oil change to engine/transmission overhaul to wiring and programming issues due to these being newer vehicles.
• Using nothing but Manufacturer guidelines and OE equipment as to repair as best as I can without cutting corners and just putting bandaids on a missing limb.
•Going on the road to either fix or rescue an out-of-commission unit.
• Plenty more that comes with the territory of these duties

The issue is that this being a somewhat seasonal job, it is 9 months of busy season, with 3 months running essentially half or less. This is also in a city where the average rent is roughly 1800/month. My wage was decided on a quick google search of “average wage of mechanic” (50k) and at first, I thought it was a great opportunity so I took it. I sold my car to afford the transition and have eliminated all nonessential expenses, but now with health insurance and medical bills, it is not sustainable.

How can I better articulate what my actual role is in simple terms to try and get possibly better compensation?
