(Warning: rant)
Anybody happy in life? It feels like whatever someone makes a goal they almost always fall short. I just wanted an engineering job, to be able to make a living off one job. I went to school and found out my last semester that my degree wasn't accredited, I went to work a trade to take advantage of tuition reimbursement to get back on track then got laid off. I did warehouse work for a while (forklift driver) but left because apparently a lot of people still in the streets look for that type of work, had to duck from gun shots one night during lunch
I went back to my trade job hoping it would be better this time only to find out the craftsmanship has gone to shit because they keep hiring kids straight out of high-school that never used a tool before (had to show somebody how to use a regular ass box wrench). On top of that the union is screwing people over pretty bad. I got a tech position hoping it would lead to an engineering position, but ended up with a manipulative control freak of a manager that would only allow me to go back to school for the degree he chose and college.
So now I'm right back at my trades position filling out applications almost daily only to be told I don't have enough experience or just ghosted. And I can definitely see myself getting fired from here, my Forman is cool but it's way to many people here that like to pretend they're the boss and try to mouth off at people barking orders.
Just wanted to get some stuff off my chest
