My boyfriend came home from a long day at work and told me that he was irritated with his job. So the store he works at closes at 7pm, and this older lady was in there 30-40 minutes after closing and apparently him and another manager told her that this store is closed and they offered to help her with whatever she needed to make the process of her leaving the store quicker. Of course she took offense to it, and called the store manager and complained about them the next day. The store manager had a talk with them and basically told them that they are not aloud to tell customers to leave the store or even say that the store is closed and that they are required to stay in the store until the customer leaves unless it’s past 10pm because the customer “always comes first”….. and if they tell the customer otherwise, the manager said there will be “serious consequences”….. remember I said earlier, the store CLOSES at 7pm. So basically, if a customer would like to stay 3 hrs after closing they can. That means the cashiers and duty manager would have to stay until they leave even if they are scheduled to leave at 7. Complete BS. The funny thing is that my boyfriend said the store manager isn’t even there when the store opens/closes, he works the mid shift from 8-5 and never helps any customers. Absolute cooperate bs.
