Backstory: I am a security guard currently working a night shift on a large residential property it is currently 2 am and this happened an hour ago.
So I’ve already decided to type out my two weeks and hand it (my probation ends in a week and contract in a month) in when they come back in for their shift. My supervisor decided that at 1 am they would make a surprise visit acting like a suspicious individual on property ti see if we are being active on the job(this is not in their job description) I was able to apprehend them and realized who it was. I jokingly told them it’s a bit early for them to be in work to where I received the reply “I wanted to see if you guys were sleeping”. They also carried a radio so they were able to overhear all the chatter btn myself and my partner who was working the cameras or lack there of as we were continuously texting each other on issues around the property which I confirmed by reporting it over the radio and the supervisor replying. I wish this was the first time but this is actually the second time they’ve done this earlier in the month the supervisor and Lead walked into the office hours after they had gone home to find us all in the office. (We were given a warning)
Now in my life of working different jobs this might be the first time I’ve experienced micromanaging and having to keep two eyes on the back of my head while working. Am I tripping or is what they did shitty as management?
