I'm interviewing tomorrow for a supervisor role. It's in a different department so it'll be all strangers for tomorrow's panel (over zoom). It would increase my commute from 15 to 45 min, but it would be a massive pay bump and 2 remote days/week (compared to none now!). And they give more flexibility to supervisors and their schedule with kids (which has sucked as a grunt worker the past few years, but I'll take advantage of what they give…).
I really want to land this gig even with the commute issue. I only have 15 minutes to prep the questions, I know at least 1-2 of the 5 are the generic diversity / difficult co-worker bit. What are some key points to nail that would make my interview stand out over most?
I also want to add that I want to be a part of the solution when it comes to middle managers. I hate watching people promote and say they “won't change at all!” and I just watch as the authority goes to their head and slowly turn into absolute monsters.
