I work at a lab making dental implants and dentures. Doing this, we do work with a lot of sensitive patient information. Logically, there are occasional cameras to ensure no one is doing anything illegal with that information. At least, if they used the cameras for that, it would be understandable.
Not too long ago, we were all told that they use the cameras to see when we arrive/leave work to make sure we aren't committing time fraud. They also told us it was to see how long we spend in the bathroom. They don't want us taking too long in there, or going too often. They've decided they trust us so little with our bodily function and promise to not commit wage theft, they installed a new camera today pointing DIRECTLY at the bathroom doors.
Privacy feels like a long forgotten idea.
