Suspended from Union Job because new manager “saw” me was sleeping…..

Good morning I was suspended from work November 1st because my manager apparently reported that I was “sleeping” on the job……. I was sitting up on a platform where the palletizer operators sit to watch the cameras which are pretty much above our heads. There’s multiple computer chairs up top which lean back and the only way to see the screen comfortably is to lean back in the chair with your head facing up. I was watching the cameras and a manager with little to no experience who started a month and a half ago walked up on me. I heard her coming up the stairs and immediately looked at her when she got to the top of the steps. All she asked me was are you good and I responded yes I’m good and she walked away. Everything was running perfectly. I have also helped this girl on multiple occasions. She’s 23 and I am 30. I was staying over on a 16 hour shift that day. My 3rd 16 hour shift in a 7 day rotation. 5 minutes later I went to break and sat in the break room to eat. As I drove my forklift to the break room she was walking past me again. I found it kinda odd so I kept an eye out for her since she never walks down to our end of the building. I sat in the break room with a coworker and watched her pass by 5 separate times wondering wth she is even doing. A couple coworkers told me she was hyping herself up. She came into the break room in front of a coworker and said I’m being wrote up in a very nervous fashion. I put my arms up and was very confused. She darted out of the breakroom before I could even get a word out. I didn’t think much of it because I did nothing wrong. I msged my union steward about what happened right after. This was in a Saturday. Monday I find out I was wrote up for sleeping. She apparently saw me twice which is a lie that my union rep debunked because you can’t see the operators eyes from the ground beneath and I also responded to her immediatly when she got to the top of the steps where I was sitting. I stayed over 16 hours that Monday and had to attend a meeting with hr my supervisor and union rep. I told them this exact same story and the union rep and my supervisor both agreed the girl needs more training because she didn’t do a thing right. We concluded and I figured it was over and I was okay. My girlfriend works on the opposite side with her and thought the same exact thing. No one even likes this girl because she’s not a social person whatsoever. I get a call Wednesday afternoon after my midnight shift stating to not return to work at this time and to call back for more info.im suspended until further notice without pay while an investigation is done. We are also in contract negotiations so grievances are put on hold. My union rep wrote up a grievance and took videos to prove the new girl is lieing. So not I sit and wait without pay which is screwed up because I did nothing wrong, she lied, and followed none of the procedures the right way. On top of that my new dodge charger was stolen from the gated parking lot two weeks before which is kind of a blessing now because that payment was hefty. The gate never gets closed by security. Bad luck but irrelevant to the situation I hope. The union president told me to sit tight it could be awhile. As far as I know they are really trying to get my job back. They have everyone scared at work and people have been sticking up for me because they know I never sleep at work and I have never been in trouble in the two years iv worked for Unilever. My Stuart think I’ll get my job back but I have to wait this out. It will take longer because of contract negotiations. I work for Unilever and we are united steel workers. Does anyone think I’ll keep my job after the grievance process? Also does anyone have any idea how long it could take? I’m so mad because unlike most of my coworkers I show up everyday, never sleep, and kick ass at my job. This is also creating more overtime for everyone else. I filed unemployment but got denied because unresolved issue. This makes me so sick because my girl and her dad (been there 32years) both work on the other end of the building and they know I’m good at what I do and don’t play around. He’s pressing the issue because he doesn’t want to work for a company that would do that to an excellent employee that he cares about. This is the first issue iv had with this company. I also never threatened lawyers when my car was stolen from Unilever’s gated lot. In a month I pretty much lost everything 🙁 in the meantime I will go to school for welding so I have other options. Any opinions would be appreciated I am sick!!!!
