Taken off payroll and paycheck is 10 days late

Hi all, I work with a large company in the BC, Canada. My paycheck for Sept 16-29 is 8 days late and going to be 10 days late on Tuesday (our next work day). I e-mailed the employee management platform helpdesk about 3 days in, and they informed me that my “compensation for the position ended” on September 16th. However, I obviously have not been fired as my manager was surprised to hear about this and said we may need to involve our union for it. I e-mailed HR on the 5th day and they haven't replied yet. In BC, employees must be paid within 8 days of the end of the pay period. What can I do in this situation? What happens if a paycheck is very late? I am part of a union — would this be an appropriate time to contact them and get support on next…

Thank you!
