It’s absolutely bizarre to me that we’ve seen the rise of salaried workers not being paid for lunch… I used to work salary 7:45 to 3:45 — of course they tried to pressure us to get there early, but there wasn’t anything they could do. Now I see a lot of companies don’t include a lunch break and want you to work 9 to 530 or 8 to 430 … it seems absolutely bizarre to try to steal that extra 2.5 hours from employees when they are spending their best waking hours at the job.
How did companies get so greedy? They’ve forgotten without employees they don’t exist.
