Temp agencies are a joke

I worked for a temp agency 2 years ago. They placed me in a company and realized they placed 12 of us when they only needed 6. They laid 6 of us off that same day in the parking lot after we exited the building. This same agency called me the other day out of nowhere with a job position that would “fit me perfectly”. I am looking for part time work so I called them back and the hiring manager told me I had to do an over the phone interview before he could tell me any details about this position. He said he was busy and he would call me later as if I have all day. He says he will call at 4 and calls at 4:15. I do the interview. He then tells me I am perfect for the position but I need to stop in…

He then tells me I am perfect for the position but I need to stop in the office for another interview and to discuss all the details of all the positions available.

I go into the office. Of course this takes time to prepare and I wear business attire and am professional. Plus… gas.

The manager tells me there are currently no open positions but that he has updated my resume and will keep it on file for anything that opens up.

What. The. Hell.

Why waste someone's time like this!?
