So I left my high volume call center job to go back to temping while I worked my way through college. That way I'm not tied down while I try to land my first IT position. The temp agency has treated me extremely well in the past and my rep was very excited I was back. She had me working within a week. She and I continued to work together and I ended up at this job, last day today, for almost a year.
When I was contemplating not extending my time here further, my rep assured me they had plenty of open positions and finding contract work wouldn't be an issue. I put in a month's notice and then it's crickets. My rep apparently went on Maternity Leave and my interim rep could not give a shit if she tried. According to her, the literal only position she would put my name forward for was as an admin in a construction site trailer 35 miles outside my city, steel toes required, and the only toilet being a porta-potty.
I'm less than thrilled, but need to pay bills. So I mention that I could do it for a short time while looking for something else. Guess that was the wrong thing to say because it is apparently a temp to hire position and if I don't want to work there forever then she won't even put me forward for an interview. She says it's a slow season and it might be weeks or maybe even a month till she has something for me. So I'm just fucked.
