Thanks r/antiwork

18 months ago I found this subreddit and began questioning my devotion to my job. Between the uplifting stories & war stories from shithole employers, I re-examined my life. I took a shot at some jobs out of state, on the upper end of my perceived reach, interviewed very well much to my surprise, and came away with 3 offers from very respected employers. I’m coming up on a year with my new employer, joined one of the shop unions with no hesitation and constantly have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming because of how drastically different my work/life balance is. Gone are the 70hr weeks just to make ends meet, gone are texts and phone calls from the company owners holding my job over my head if I don’t cater to their every need, gone is overwhelming uncertainty of each work week. Thanks for reading, thanks…
