The company makes our retail store host children’s birthday parties

I work at a well known retail chain that sells little girl’s jewelry and pierces ears. Shoddy ear piercing techniques aside, it’s just a normal ass mall retail store. It’s cramped, not much room to move around, and the walls and floor are filled to the brim with product. The company likes to promote the option to have a birthday party IN THE STORE. We are a retail store. We do not have party games or decorations. There is no room in the store for 10 little girls to just hang out and party. The last party we had my manager had to draw a shitty “pin the horn on the unicorn” in highlighter and ballpoint pen on the back of an old store poster. We have to cater to this “party” and entertain the kids, all while normal customers are still coming in and buying stuff. I just find it annoying. Who would want to celebrate a kids birthday at a STORE anyway.

It’s frustrating the lengths corporate will go to make a few more dollars. Party planner isn’t in my job description
