I love reading people’s posts here, as someone who is now disabled and can’t work it does not make me miss retail at all. I feel for all of you.
But so many of these ridiculous customer stories has reminded me of this one time I started working at a wholesale store. It was like my second week and someone came up to the side of my register, which was right in front of customer service, and asked if I could redeem her bottle return receipt for her. I said unfortunately I couldn’t, that’s not something we have the ability to do at the register, she would have to go to customer service. She was so sweet and polite to me up until I said that and she called me a lazy fat-ass 🥴 I was young and was so taken aback but couldn’t help but laugh after because HUH??
Anyway, I just really want to hear some of the most comically awful interactions with customers!
