Here’s how pathetic my hospital is. You know how certain groups will get together and clean the beach? I am all for that and actually find it to be a great social opportunity.
Well my hospital pressures certain departments to have the privilege of getting together to clean the campus/parking lots on the hospital campus.
Do they pay you for this? No, in fact you must be off the clock. Do they provide food or drink? No. What do they provide? Garbage bags and disposable gloves.
My boss asked me if I’m going to participate and I’m still laughing. The whole Covid fiasco was healthcare professionals coming together in effort to prevent people from dying under deplorable conditions. We have had zero pay raises for the past two years while inflation has increased 14%. Our 401k matching plan was eliminated. Healthcare plans were picked to the bone. Overtime was eliminated and now threats of being let go are abundant.
You want me to clean your parking lot for free? Go pound sand.
