About 9 years ago I worked for a short time at my local burger king. It was the morning shift, I was also working another job at this time. After about a month of almost no training, losing somewhere between 30-50 pounds from not eating because of how gross the kitchen was, and just in general having a massive lack of sleep. I decided that this was not the way i wanted to live.
I told my manager at the time that the job wasn't working out.
My manager asked if i was sure.
I said yes.
She replied, ” well if you quit, you'll be blacklisted from working with the company. Along with working at the Arby's across the street.”
Me: ” Alright.”
Manager: ” how about I put you on a vacation so you won't be blacklisted and if you want to come back, you can?”
I've been on an extended 8-9 year vacation, and I think it's going to go longer.
