Worked one job where they wanted me to do the job of my supervisors who got paid more- threatened to fire me if I didn't, said ok, they really convinced themselves I didn't understand what firing meant, lol. It was a union job anyways and the rep put a kibosh on that fuckery (god bless the unions)
Another job watched a twacked coworker put plastic in the deep fryer, was threatened w firing if I didn't work foh to cover him when I was only boh- kept me on, I quit
Was told another place if I called cps or police or kept record of certain clients breaking rules etc I would be fired.
I literally don't care.
Getting told by the lowest paying org in my industry I could be fired when I've literally found and been hired and been working for a job for half the hours as my old job but twice the pay. They really thinking being fired from a low wage, high effort job is a threat.
I can't with people. I have 20 years job history and let me be honest- working that long will really show you you have options, you don't have to take shit, and that a firing is really nothing to be scared of, whatever that thing is in the back of your head that makes you scared as a teen of “doing bad” will burn the fuck out. And show you how fucking silly it is for an underpaying job to really think they are doing something to threaten to fire you.
I've been doing this a long time. I am financially stable. I have worked shit jobs. I have had great jobs. It really is better mentally etc to have less hours more life, to be able to say fuck you to a job, and to have no fear to stand up for your rights.
