I’m sure this is a common experience.. hate this shit. There’s a small company I’m considering as I know a few employees who enjoy their roles. I sent my resume to a recruiting contact yesterday, who responded positively within a few hours, which of course I generally prefer. I got an email saying he’d love to meet in person if possible, even that he could fly to me. Ok, I’m totally fine with that, let’s do it. I responded last night.
Got another email at 4:30 this morning offering times today and tomorrow that he could meet me—which I can’t because yknow… I already have a job with plenty of responsibility as my resume makes clear. Idk if dude has a private jet or how he was gonna get here so quickly, but I took a couple hours to decide how to respond.
It’s now shortly before 11AM and he has called and left messages three times, sent two more emails asking if I’m still interested. Bruh. You’re eager and you like my resume, I got that just fine from the first message.
I dunno what to say and I’m going to continue with the process, but there’s not a CHANCE I’d want to if I didn’t feel I had the inside scoop on the place and been warned about this particular recruiter.
If someone is so desperate to leave their position they can skip out for another interview on a few hours’ notice, they probably wouldn’t get hired by me. I’m sure we miss out on many fantastic candidates this way 🤡
