I make 12 an hour. No one in management is willing to disclose their pay, but the average pay for their job title in my field is 20 an hour.
We've had major retention issues. Both new and old employees have quit due to changing workload. Every month there's a new piece of paperwork or some new ridiculous standard. Our workload increases and our support decreases. Despite them apparently “trying,” no new hires for a year.
A little while ago they introduce 3 new employees. They're going to have some token management duties but they're primarily going to be doing what we do. So they've effectively increased the hiring rate but skirted around increasing our wage.
Goes to show they could pay us a LOT more, and retain more help in the process, but they can't fucking stand the idea of us making that much so they just hire managers to replace us.
