This is my equivalent to “how often do men think about the Roman Empire”

About five years ago I worked at a bank that rhymes with Shells Bargo. It was an office job in a very prominent downtown Denver skyscraper, which sounds nice but pay was still only about $40k a year and the office layout/furniture was still from the early 90s! Not anyone's dream job… I will never forget when there was a massive lottery payout like $700MM and everyone was discussing what they would do if they won. TWO people on my team of 10… TWO (!!!) said they would still come into work the next day because “they would feel bad.” No our boss wasn't around, they weren't just sucking up. That was the moment I knew the company brainwashed people and I had to get out… thank God I did, but I seriously think about them all the time and wonder about their thought process is for day to day…

Tomorrow isn't guaranteed but they felt that much commitment to a very mediocre, boring job. 🙁
