Thoughts on something I saw on Undercover Boss

So this one clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrkIZCpEQ3I) from Undercover Boss popped up on my algorithm for some reason. Out of curiosity I clicked it, and, of course, it was very disillusioning. We have this hard-working, passionate young man who truly loves the theme park business and roller coasters. He spends his precious free time designing roller coasters in hopes that he will become CEO. He happily does a monotnous, boring job at the theme park that he loves. Ultimately, the CEO pays him a full ride scholarship for design school and pays his salary so he can attend school full time. I will have to say, this is probably one of the better undercover boss “boons”.It's actually substantial and not some palrty sum of 2000 dollars or something. I'm just giving credit where credit is due. As to the sincerity of the CEO, well, I can't judge what's going on in the…

In any case, does his hard-working, passion , enthusiasm, grit, all qualities that the capitlaist soothsayers proclaim will make you CEO and successful, pay off in any way? absolutely fucking not. If you check the company's linkedin the new CEO is some random douchebag with an MBA who probably doesnt give a single FUCK about roller coasters, just the bottom line. In fact, they probably already had him lined up. It's like the papacy- the cardinals always have a guy next in line already, the voting is just a formality. It's all incestuous and predcitable.

In fact, they did a follow up episode, he's still working at Silver Dollar City as a guy at the till. Now theres nothing wrong or undignified about this job, sure, but I think it's safe to say that the guy is at least overqualified, no? I cna't help but think that their weaponizing this guy's passion against him, always having him chase the dragon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egQBDVlRlGQ
