Thoughts on taking 1 day off a week all year instead of in a row vacation?

I work 3×12, and I've been taking 1 day off a week this year and it's been amazing, from a mix of annual vacation and calling in sick. Almost the good life, almost like being retired. I'm barely ever at work. Obviously, the trade-off is that you can never take an in a row vacation longer than 5 days because you run out of days off. So no going to Cuba for a week or two. Doing “2” jobs but working as much as many doing 1.
