In my state, it is illegal for employers to divert employee paychecks to pay for company equipment. Yet, this manager is threatening to take out of paychecks to pay for broken blenders… I worry that many of the workers there, who are minors, are not aware of this law and may be exploited for an easy-to-make mistake during rushes… if the blenders are that easy to break, that seems less like the minimum wage-making employee's problem, and moreso a reflection of the company's shoddy equipment and maintenance…had a shift where literally all blenders were broken.
