My employer uses a system of rounding when dealing with time cards. They round every 15 minutes so if I clock in at 5:53 for a 6:00 shift I’m only paid as of 6:00. On the flip if I clock in at 5:52 I’m paid as if I arrived at 5:45.
While I understand this is Legal where I live I’ve noticed my employer changes my clock in time very often. We’re required to arrive and get to a workstation which we then boot up and need to sign-in to a few programs. It looks like they’re using our time signing into this program as our clock in time.
My question is can they use that as our clock in time when I have to be here and spend 1-2 minutes a day waiting for the workstation to turn on and signing into the program?
Also if I arrive at 5:51 and they change my time card to 5:53 i’m losing out on a quarter hour every day. That adds up over time. Is there anything I can do about it?
Thanks guys!
