Hello! I am unsure if this is the correct subreddit but wanted to rant about my job as I'm a bit annoyed. My job is hybrid so I'm in office Monday and Tuesdays, and if needed to be in the office another day, my days get switched so it's still only two days.
I requested Monday and Tuesday off, my birthday the 6th and the day after so I wouldn't have to go in office that week. (I requested it off within the two week notice period) however, I told the other coordinator yesterday and she said I should take the whole week off as I have been working here over a year and only taken one scheduled day off while my co workers go on vacations left and right and said I should relax more. I stated it's already within the two weeks but you're right I will. So I asked him and he said no because he wants to celebrate my coworker and I's birthday on that Wednesday and her work anniversary, so my plan backfired and I still have to go in office that week and it's annoying because yay they are gonna get us a cake and sing happy birthday and they know I don't even want or like cake. On top of that! They didn't even celebrate my anniversary but I have been here long enough to celebrate everyone's work anniversary besides mine as he forgot. I wouldn't mind if he said I couldn't take the whole week off because it was within the two weeks notice, even though it's so slow at work right now and nothing is planned for that week but his reasoning was he wants to celebrate with us. He said this in the team meeting and my other co worker was stated we do not need to celebrate her birthday, and I'm on the same page as her. It's also annoying for everyone's birthday I have to chip in $20 for a cake when again, I don't like cake.
It's also funny he told everyone I was going to be off those two days, when everyone else is off, I don't know until the day of or the day before.
