Time to quit because I don’t have time off…

Hello I’m a 21F who has been working part time at a hotel since January and it’s time to quit! We had a manager who would cover for everyone or just didn’t have anyone work when someone needed time off – it sucked for her and I acknowledge that. But when you give someone MONTHS to find coverage, that’s your job! Especially with most people not having the same schedule each week. However, since all my coworkers go to church together, no one works Sundays even when scheduled. I know this well because I was in training but no one would show up and it was just me basically sitting there as I had never worked a hotel before. Why am I quitting? Well we have a new assistant general manager and she is making sure everyone has time to even request off. I understand call outs are crazy but…

I understand call outs are crazy but they refuse to hire people full time because then they have to give benefits. So guess what? No one has “time” to even accrue!

I have a wedding to go to, I told them over 2 months in advance and now they tell me I can’t take off because I don’t “have time.” This is ridiculous. I don’t make enough to deal with this. I’m already paying a massive amount to even go to the wedding, as if I would skip it. I’m a college student, this is no where near my priority 🙂

As they say: act your wage and I’m not requesting time off, I’m telling you 🙂
