The two interviews: Tech Recruiter sent me a tech test but never sent the link to their google sheet (which is where I was supposed to work it – they wanted to watch). I emailed the recruiter 3 times then did the work on my own google sheet and sent him the link. Ghosted for 2 weeks then “We went with another candidate”. However the job is still posted.
2nd interview made it to the 4th interview and well past the tech test. Questioned the CTO (4th interview) about work/life balance and was told “If you value the 'life' aspect of work/life balance, this is not the job for you” basically stating that the work I do for them should be considered above my own life. The fucking arrogance of the statement. Needless to say I ended the interview process there.
And thats it. It has never been this silent on the job front when searching. I keep a one note of every job/application/email/response/interview. So I just counted them all up. 29 applications just last week – hopefully something will come through that isnt an absolute insult to my abilities. Being 57 I think some serious age discrimination is taking place this go-round.
As always though, its a numbers game so I will just keep hammering at it and something will give – hopefully not me.
