I am a bartender at a busy restaurant. Took 2 weeks off work for birth of my child. When I tried to go back to work I found out I am fully off the schedule. I feel so betrayed. The manager won’t even tell me why I was taken off the schedule. I will probably contact the owner of the restaurant but I doubt that will change anything.
Is it illegal to fire someone for taking an approved 2 week vacation? Maybe not illegal, but I should at least file for unemployment or something?
I am the type of person to show up early and stay late. I never call I’m sick. I have been bartending for 12 years I am a professional. The weird thing is I get along with management very well and I was almost getting into a bar manager role. Now I’m just off the schedule, just like that?!
