I started with my current employer about 2 1/2 years ago. Now that the pandemic is not as large of a concern, we're allowed to travel for conferences again. I have an out of staye conference requiring air travel. I asked my boss if travel time is considered “on the clock” since I will be flying on Monday and Thursday. HR has responded that they need to check with executive staff. My prior job had me traveling over half the year, and travel time was always paid. Does anyone have a job that doesn't pay them travel time? I can't imagine spending over 6 hours of my week traveling for work and not being paid. I've read through all our policies, and we have nothing that addresses this.
