So I have been working at this job for almost 2 years (2 years in 3 weeks) and I don’t know if I should quit on the spot right now or put in a notice. I was always told I was the best worker by the manager but recently I’ve been moved to morning shift and ever since he’s been disrespectful towards me and I feel like he’ll fire me soon (He’s also been cutting my hours).
The morning shifts are slow so theres nothing to do. I work 5 hour shifts and I spend at least an hour of that actually doing work until I have no more work to do. Because of this I think he just sees me doing nothing as me not doing my job.
2 weeks ago he threatened to replace me with a trainee (that I was supposed to train) if I didn’t pick up the pace. Now the trainee took all of my schedule so i only work 2 days. Another thing is that I used to work Monday – Friday so when i was off Saturday they changed the schedule so that I work Sundays and they didn’t tell me. So I missed a day of work without even knowing I was supposed to work that day
I feel undervalued and that I’m too good for this job because I know how to everything and efficiently. But since this is my first job I don’t know how to quit.
If I quit now would that affect my chances of getting another job? If I put it a notice would my manager just take that as an opportunity to fire me for whatever reason? Should I wait until my 2 year anniversary? The only reason I’ve been here for so long is for a good recommendation on my resume but now thats out of the picture so what do you guys suggest I do.
