Context: I work for a well known beverage company, as a Salesman/ Merchandiser I have a route with 5 stores that I oversee. Each of those stores have specific load time schedules to facilitate smoother drop off of product.
Yesterday I forewarned my supervisor that I was going to go to a funeral of a good friend that passed this weekend but the catch that it was at 11 Am and I don’t clock out till 3Pm. Being that my Wednesdays are the busiest he threw someone to do my other store that had a load to alleviate my work load. Despite my active communication the Dispatch guy (Not in the same department as my supervisors) switched the route last minute causing my load that should’ve been there first thing at 7:00 am (As the Schedule says) pushing it back to 10 Am causing me to miss the whole ceremony.
I’m honestly contemplating on going to my branch tomorrow morning just to have a conversation with the dispatch guy about his negligence, is there any recourse for this unique situation? I’m not sure it’s even HR worthy but I wanna shake the guys hand and express my gratitude in a very sarcastic fashion on how he fucked me over.
